Nina Pham, one of the two nurses who made headlines nationwide when she contracted Ebola at Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas, is now filing a lawsuit against the hospital. WFAA-TV Ch. 8 interviewed Dallas trial lawyer and the Aldous Law founder Charla Aldous on the lawsuit. Attorney Aldous is representing Ms. Pham in her case.

The lawsuit accuses Texas Health Resources—the hospital’s parent company—of multiple infractions including deception, invasion of privacy, and gross negligence. Ms. Aldous informed the news outlet that she felt the hospital acted apprehensively, exposing their employees to the deadly disease and failing to observe protocol put in place for their safety.

The nurses were diagnosed with Ebola after contracting the disease because of exposure to Thomas Duncan, a Liberian patient who died at Texas Health Presbyterian because of the illness. Nina Pham states that she had none of the gear or training necessary to ensure that she would not be contaminated, resulting in her contracting the disease. She also stated that her privacy was violated when Texas Health Resources chose to exploit her headline-grabbing illness as a media sensation.
