Charla Aldous, firm founder of Aldous Law, is one of the subjects of a Texas Lawyer article titled “Tell Better Stories: Litigators Share Tools Behind Courtroom Success.” The piece highlights legal titans as they share the books, movies, podcasts, and films that have inspired their approach to trial advocacy.
In the article, Ms. Aldous shares her belief that authenticity is key to connecting with juries.
"Don't try to be somebody else - be yourself," Ms. Aldous told Texas Lawyer. "Don't be 'the lawyer you' - be the 'you, you.'"
She also recommends “Rules of the Road” by Rick Friedman and Patrick Malone, calling it a must-read for young lawyers learning the fundamentals of effective trial advocacy.
“Juries can smell fakeness and fraud a mile away,” Ms. Aldous said.
