On January 16, a Chevy Tahoe was traveling east on the George H. Bush Turnpike when traffic began to slow down for reasons unknown. The driver, Charqual McMath, lost control as she took an evasive action, swerving left across all three lanes and then back to the right.
The vehicle rolled numerous times and then struck another vehicle. It continued until it fell over 60 feet down into a parking lot of DART Park and Ride at the Richardson-Plano border.
As a result of the accident, three passengers — Torneki McMath (19), Myaa Moore (13), and Tyreana McMath (12) — were transported to Medical Center of Plano. They later died. The driver suffered minor injuries and the passengers in the vehicle that was struck were uninjured.
It is unsure what caused the traffic to slow.
