Brent Walker Earns 2012 Texas Super Lawyers® Rising Stars℠ Listing

We’re excited to announce that this year’s Texas Super Lawyers® Rising Starslist includes—yet again—our very own Dallas trial attorney Brent Walker! That makes for five years in a row in which Mr. Walker has been included in this important list. As our lead attorney, Charla Aldous, put it, this honor is “well-deserved.”

“Brent…is among the finest trial and appellate lawyers in Texas, regardless of age,” said Ms. Aldous of the announcement. “He is a key member of our firm and a wonderful advocate for our clients. I am proud to have him on our team.”

This prestigious list includes attorneys under the age of 40 and with less than 10 years of practice under their belts who are considered to be leaders among their peers. The selection committee is stringent, which highlights the importance of this award and the accomplishment Mr. Walker has made.

Experienced Dallas Trial Lawyer

Mr. Walker represents his clients in a broad range of cases—from business litigation to personal injury cases. He works in the courtroom as a skilled trial lawyer, and also has years of appellate experience. His past achievements and his continued dedication to his clients—proven through effective and strategic courtroom work—contributed to his selection for the list of 2012 Texas Super Lawyers® Rising Stars℠.

One of his most recent accomplishments involved a case where a young 16 year-old girl was wrongfully expelled from her school after it was discovered that a male teacher on the staff had targeted her for sexual abuse. On behalf of the family, Mr. Walker and the Aldous \ Walker sued the Episcopal School of Dallas and won—achieving a $9.8 million verdict after nine weeks of testimony before a six-person jury.

How are Attorneys Chosen for the 2012 Texas Super Lawyers® Rising Stars℠?

Researchers from the Thomson Reuters’ Legal Division compile nominations from established attorneys surveyed in Texas. Specifically, these attorneys are asked for recommendations of skilled young lawyers—40 years of age or younger and with 10 or less years of practice. A panel of hand-selected attorneys then chooses the final nominees. Less than 2.5% of qualifying attorneys make the list, which is featured in the April 2012 copies of Texas Monthly magazine and Texas Rising Stars magazine.
