Rabbi Peretz Avram Shapiro, a Dallas rabbi, nearly lost his arm in a serious accident at a North Texas slaughterhouse. He was contracted by Alle Processing in Maspeth, New York as a ritual slaughterer or mashgiach. He worked at Beltex, a processing plant located in Fort Worth. He was not, however, given proper training. After being told to stand too close to a dangerous piece of machinery, his arm was caught and almost amputated.
The Dallas trial lawyers at the Aldous Law represented Rabbi Shapiro in his case. The court ruled that he was entitled to compensation.
