Dallas Jury Rules in Favor of Doe Family, Against ESD

Recently, a jury ruled that the Episcopal School of Dallas (ESD) committed fraud and gross negligence in its handling of a sexual assault case involving a 16 year-old minor referred to in court proceedings as Jane Doe II and her history teacher Nathan Campbell. Dallas trial lawyers from the Aldous Law represented Miss Doe and her family. While it was ruled that the organization may legally be considered a charity, it does not, however, qualify under the immunity cap provided to legal charities of $500,000.

Total damages due Jane Doe II are estimated at approximately $8.5 million. ESD will pay about 40% of these damages and Mr. Campbell will pay 60%. Our Dallas trial lawyers consider the case an important landmark.
