One of the legal profession’s most respected attorney rating agencies, Super Lawyers publishes annual listings of the top attorneys from each state, recognizing them for their excellence in a particular area of law. After receiving nominations from colleagues and ensuring nominees meet minimum qualifying criteria, Super Lawyers whittles down a list of highly respected lawyers to make its final listing by carefully vetting candidates with a proprietary selection process that evaluates their:

- Past case results (settlements and / or verdicts)
- Educational and employment background
- Noteworthy achievements and distinctions
- Contributions to pro bono / community service

- Special certifications or licensees

For the Super Lawyers list of Rising Stars, which recognizes lawyers who are under the age of 40 or who have been admitted to their state bar for 10 years or less no more than 2.5% of practicing members in the entire state are ultimately chosen to the final list.
